Brady, the pug/frenchie, owned and loved by Miranda Burkert, of Miranda Taylor Photography, traveled clear across the country to be photographed at the Muskegon State Park Beach! In Tennessee, they don’t have the luxury of beautiful beaches, like we do here in Michigan, and Taylor wanted a reason for a beach adventure, and quality photographs that captured her beloved Brady’s personality.
Since they traveled so far, we took our time, hiking and photographing throughout the grass covered sand dunes, the sandy and seashell beaches, and even ventured through the breakwater rocks. A variety of backgrounds, textures, and colors was my goal when photographing Brady’s portraits and action shots! As Miranda told me stories about her bond with Brady, I knew I wanted to photograph her with Brady, something she was hesitant to do. We’re all a bit self conscious, and as photographers, we tend to feel more comfortable behind the camera then in front of it. But after she watched me work with Brady, she quickly changed her mind and joined in on the fun!
Yes, it can be intimidating to photograph for another photographer, and it absolutely ups the pressure when clients travel such great lengths for a photoshoot, but I am so glad that Miranda and Brady came to me. They graced me with the freedom to create art as it played out in my imagination, trusted that I could not only make the photoshoot fun, but deliver fine art images they could treasure for decades to come. For that, I am forever grateful. ♥️
