These photos almost didn’t happen. The morning started out with snow on the ground, followed by a rain storm that drenched the roads as Heather and her dog, Thorin, traveled to Muskegon for their photoshoot. She called me on the way, asking if I was sure I wanted to still photograph. I could see a patch of blue sky, and on a hope and a prayer, I said let’s give it a whirl!
As we began, the darker clouds lifted, giving way to a beautifully warm and sunny Spring morning. It created the perfect opportunity to photograph reflection images in the nearby puddles, and to split the session between a moodier wooded background and more playful photos on the sandy beach.
Thorin was the perfect gentleman, posing perfectly still while I photographed, and upon release, he turned into the goofiest dog, springing around the park like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. It made me excited to create fine art photography, and made both Heather and I laugh at Thorin’s silly personality.
