During my previous trip south, I enjoyed an afternoon photographing the hunter jumper horses and miniature horses at Opening Bell Farm, in Ocala Florida,. Here in Michigan, we don’t have grandfather trees, with sweeping branches, draped with textured moss. I wanted to incorporate those into the images as much as possible, so we focused our time with several horses, photographing their portraits, and then lunging them (line removed in post productions) below the classic Ocala trees. Along the way, several other horses joined the fun, gathering at fence lines or watching us through the window of their stall. I couldn’t help but photograph them as well, capturing the over all atmosphere at Opening Bell Farm.
