This is the year that Miss. Kendall will be graduating, and in celebration she wanted to include her two horses and dog into her senior photo session. Graduating senior sessions typically are split in half, allowing us to capture the senior with and without their animals. But during Kendall’s session, a quote by Emily Bronte, “Whatever our souls are made of, his and mind are the same,” kept replaying in my mind like a heartbeat that set the tone of my camera shutter. Kendall’s love for her horses and dog resonated with such radiant warmth that it was difficult for me to stop photographing them. That passion clearly came from her incredibly kind mother, Jennifer, who had her senior photos taken nearly two decades ago with the same horse! She of course had to jump in for a few photos with Kendall and the horses!
We were gifted a rarity of warmth and one final golden sunset in the end of October for this session. A big thank you to the gals for their patience as I lost my words in excitement of what we were capturing, as I rolled around in the grass to find the elusive and desired sun flares, and for helping me locate my phone after chucking it into the tall grass as it whinnied to redirect the horse’s attention quickly! They were graciously up for the adventure and trusted me completely to provide them with an unforgettable collection of images, and still to this day, I find myself smiling when thinking about how this evening brought me joy in my work as well as finding wonderful new clients I could call friends.
