Midge and Mae arrived for their chilly winter session, full of energy and ready to play! These two were destined to be hunting dogs and purposefully hadn’t been taught any obedience, so that when they arrived at their trainers, they would be clean slates ready to learn the ropes of speciality hunting. Growing up with conformation show dogs, I am familiar with working around dogs that purposefully avoid the basic obedience commands. With these pups, we reverted to using their body language to communicate, and enticed them to happily play and pose in a natural way. They were eager to please, excited to explore the fields, and overjoyed to snuggle up for warm hugs at the end. I can not wait to photograph Midge and Mae when they return from training and to capture them in action while they hunt!
