He has a deeply squared jawline, accented by his jet black nose and lips. A set of wide and rounded, floppy ears that had a buoyancy bounce to them as he lightly twinkle-toed across the landscape. He has short, winkled eyebrows that sat above round chocolate eyes and a flagged tail he pretzels himself up over, as his determination to catch it spun him in circles.
His name is Butters and despite his eccentric appearance, the vast love his owners have for him goes beyond words. Butters was rescued as a pup from a shelter, turning the newly married couple into a family, immediately becoming an important pillar of their lives, and eventually their son’s life as well.
It is difficult to pin point the benefits a dog will bring, until they have positively change your life through the countless moments we are blessed to share with them. It starts as an unknown and turns into a certainty; life is grander when you have a four legged best friend to grow with and love unconditionally.
Butters has a pure heart, but as I photographed and listened to his owner share heartfelt stories of his life with Butters, I was filled with a great admiration for their bond. This is a once in a lifetime dog, spoiled more than any dog could hope for, and one that will continue to be appreciated and loved, now and until the end of time.
