Eastmanville Farm County Park is another great place for dog photography. If you have hunting breeds, this location is a wonderful option that ties the background and breed history, into the images of your beloved dog.
This park offers a variety of backgrounds including, a historical barns and silos, long grass and wild flower fields, mowed grass, a rock garden, and walking trails throughout the fields and woodland areas that surrounds two ponds. It offers areas of lighting that provides rich colors, but surrounding sunrise and sunset, you can often capture a softer, golden lighting as well!
Being a larger park with over 200 acres to explore, we have plenty of room to photograph your dogs without distractions, or having to work around other visitors. This ensures we’re able to capture the perfect balance between portraits and actions shots that embrace your dog’s true personality.
At this location, I do keep all dogs on leashes. In my camera bag, I keep several styles of leashes, including thiner show leads for the smallest dogs, heavier leather leads for the bigger dogs, and a long 15’ leash we can use in to capture action shots, while still being under control and following park rules. These leads are always edited out of your final image, leaving it looking as though your dog was the perfect angle, posing like a professional dog!
As always - no dog training is needed to capture professional photographs of your dog! It does help when your dogs knows the basics (sit, down, stay or wait), but I am very used to working with puppy brains or show dogs, where photographing them standing, and then capturing them in a sit or down when they naturally provide that behavior, is perfectly fine as well.
