Saying goodbye to the horse who has captured your whole heart, is never easy. But how blessed are we to have a love that is so difficult to say goodbye.

Marissa booked a Horse & Rider Photoshoot with her beloved palomino quarter horse, Chex, prior to saying goodbye. He had been struggling with health issues that inevitably shortened his life, but the memories and bond he had with Marissa, were incredibly important to her to capture. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, all we have left are the photographs.

We conducted the photoshoot at a pace that was comfortable for Chex, rewarding him with treats and extra affection along the way. We worked through the tears, laughing and celebrating the memories that brought Marissa joy, and captured the raw emotion and love the two of them shared.
