I have had the pleasure of photographing Ana and her family over many years, capturing their love for both their horses AND dogs! In October, a fellow photographer traveled to Michigan, to invest in a multi day mentorship with me. This time included photographing several models, through portraits, liberty, and the bond they have with their horses, as well as client management, business strategies, and of course, editing tricks to elevate their work flow and resulting fine art images.

Ana and her half Arabian, WC Neiman Marcus, located at Curtis Performance Horses in Jenison, Michigan, were the perfect fit for what I needed as a modeling duo to teach with! We photographed Neil at liberty, learning how to capture action and conformation shots, then moved to the barn to photograph Neil’s equine portraits, learning lighting and posing techniques for this style of photography, and finishing up photographing Ana and Neil horse & rider portraits, learning how to pose a horse and rider on the ground and riding.
