I have had the pleasure of photographing Katie and her horses, at Canterworks Dressage LLC. in Michigan, Wisconsin and Florida, for several years now. It’s been wonderful to build a friendship, and earn the trust of an experience equestrian in the community, who will take her visions and create quality photographs, that reflect her love for her horses, and the dedication to their wellbeing and profession in the sport.
Every horse she works with, whether or not it is her own, or client horses she has in for training, is a new chapter in her equestrian journey. This season, she had two new(er) horses in Wellington, Franny, her 7 year old who is schooling 3rd level, and Gaylord, her home bred 4 year old that just started under saddle, that we focused our time photographing.
Our goal was to capture Katie’s bond with the horses on the ground, create portraits of just the horses, and then highlight their current strengths under saddle. These were a few of my favorite photos from her session:
