Goodbye sessions are always the hardest. No words can express the emptiness you feel when you lose your loved one and no amount of comfort will ease the pain as you adjust to life without them. I can not stress enough how important it is to invest in your memories, and not just when limited time is realized. I take photos for you to return to memories otherwise forgotten, and I never want you to forget the happiness your loved ones have brought you.
Regular sessions are always the best bet in capturing your memories, but should you find yourself with limited time, please reach out to me as soon as possible. Even if I am booked, I will find time for you!
When Ashley heard from her vet that her sweet Abilene was on limited time, she immediately reached out to me. I cleared my schedule and within a few days, we were able to meet. We spent the morning slowly exploring Grand Ravine Dog Park in Jenison, letting Abilene snuffle happily through the tall grass, sweet talking her until she wagged her tail, and offering her as many snacks as she desired.
Tears were shed, and Abilene was hugged tightly. She seemed to understand the concern and weight Ashley carried, and I felt as though I was eavesdropping as Abilene and Ashley exchanged silent conversations through quiet smiles, slow tail wags, and the way they lean on each other, begging for the moment to never end. There was an undeniable bond, and it took everything I had in me to stay strong for Ashley and not crying myself.
Since our photoshoot, Abilene has found peace crossing over the rainbow bridge. I am thankful to have been able to capture beautiful images of Abilene and to instill forever the bond she had with Ashley. I know this collection will be treasured forever, a constant reminder of how much they loved each other.
Rest in Peace sweet Abilene. You will always be loved and never forgotten.
