Looker

In June, I spent the morning with a good friend and her horse Looker. It was a spontaneous photoshoot to help gather some specific images to use for marketing over the next year. I also wanted to gather some images to showcase a beautiful horse, in a variety of tack, braided or unbraided, and what a bit of extra cleaning and polishing can do to really provide you with the images that lead you to book your own session!

What tack you choose for your horse can make a huge difference in your resulting photos, as does braiding! From photographing him naked (without tack!), to changing between an Arabian show halter, his western bridle, and his English bridle, really changed the look of who he was as a horse. With his mane down, to his mane braided, changed his look drastically too. We threw a quick running braid in and this accented his Arabian neck, adding on a polished look to his images.

Which look is your favorite?

All Black/White Background sessions are completed in the comfort of your own barn. With the use of natural light, and post production skills, we are able to create these timeless and classic images in a shaded doorway of your barn, a shed, or an arena. This allows your horse stay happy without a change in environment or the extra clutter of setting up a studio or artificial lighting. Take a peak at some BEFORE & AFTERS from Looker’s session!
