As I arrived to photograph the Booth family at the Newago Riverfront Park, I was captivated by the warmth of the golden light as it streamed through the branches along the edge of the river. It is always an honor to photograph a family year after year, and as Claire’s imagination propelled her to twirl around in the grass, pick flowers and berries, and give spontaneous hugs, it allowed me to forget about reality and also become lost in her imaginary adventures. Her younger brother, Ethan, the most handsome toddler I’ve seen this year, was a rockstar during the session! Although Ethan was very concerned about getting dirty in the grass, he smiled and laughed the whole time, even when we settled him down off to the side as I photographed Katie and Erik by themselves.
I’m sure both Katie and Erik slept well that night after their attempts to keep up with Claire’s imagination, but their final collection of images proved well worth it! Here are a few of my favorites from their session!
