Ellie, Quarter Horse at Liberty in Snow

Every winter I have the honor of photographing this gorgeous palomino quarter horse, Ellie, in the fresh snow of Lake Odessa, Michigan. She floats beautifully through the powder snow, playing at liberty and kicking up her heels as I photograph. Ellie is the perfect mix between boldly showing off her natural beauty at a trot and canter, with little to no pressure, and content enough to stop and hang out quietly wherever her owner is standing.

Snow sessions are always short and sweet, 15-20 minutes, but the beauty of this horse, and the bond she has with her owner, always leaves me wanting to photograph them all day long.
